Giles Hopkins Age at Landing 13
Giles Hopkins was about 12 when he sailed on Mayflower with his father Stephen Hopkins, step-mother Elizabeth, sister Constance, and step-brother Damaris. In 1639, he married Catherine Whelden in Plymouth. (9th Great Grandfather Hinckley line)
Constance Hopkins Age at Landing 14
Constance Hopkins was about 14 years old when she sailed on Mayflower with her father Stephen Hopkins, step-mother Elizabeth, and brother Giles. She married Nicholas Snow in 1627 in Plymouth. (9th Great Grand Mother Hinckley line)
John Cooke Age at Landing 13
John Cooke was born around 1607 in Leiden. He traveled with his father, Francis Cooke, on Mayflower.
John married Sarah Warren, a daughter of Richard Warren, and had 5 children. He died in 1695 in what is now Fairhaven, MA. (10th great grandfather Holcomb line)
Priscilla Mullins Age at Landing 18
Priscilla Mullins was about 18 when she arrived with her parents and brother Joseph. She survived the first winter, but her parents and brother did not.
Priscilla married John Alden prior to August of 1623 and went on to have ten or eleven children. Descendants of John and Priscilla Alden comprise one of the largest groups of Mayflower descendants living today.
In Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poem, The Courtship of Myles Standish, Priscilla was the object of his unrequited love. (10th Great Grandmother Holcomb line)
John Alden Age at Landing 22
John Alden was born in England around 1599.
He was a cooper and crew member on the Mayflower. After arriving in America, he signed the Mayflower Compact and decided to stay rather than returning to England. Alden performed extensive public service for the colony, serving in roles such as Treasurer and Assistant Governor.
In 1623 he married fellow passenger Priscilla Mullins, and the two raised 10 children together. Descendants of John and Priscilla Alden comprise one of the largest groups of Mayflower descendants living today.
When he died in Duxbury in 1687, Alden was the last surviving signer of the Mayflower Compact. (10th great grand father Holcomb line)
Edward Doty Age at Landing 21
Edward Doty was a planter. He traveled on Mayflower as a servant to Stephen Hopkins.
Within months of landing at Plymouth, Edward fought in what Bradford called “”the first duel fought in New England.”” The incident was between him and Edward Leister, a fellow servant of Stephen Hopkins. Both parties were wounded but not killed, and received punishment for their involvement. Edward was likely near the end of his servitude at this time.
In 1635, Edward married Faith Clark, with whom he had nine children. He died in Plymouth in 1655. (10th great father Holcomb line)
Mary Age at Landing 51
Mary Brewster’s maiden name is unknown. She was born around 1569 and married William Brewster around 1592.
Mary had 5 surviving children with William. The two youngest journeyed with their parents on Mayflower, while the three elder children joined their family on later ships.
Mary died on April 17, 1627 in Plymouth (10th Great Grand Mother Hinckley line)
Stephen Hopkins Age at Landing 39
Stephen Hopkins was baptized in 1581 at Upper Clatford, Hampshire, England. He sailed on Mayflower with his second wife Elizabeth Fisher, three children, and servants Edward Doty and Edward Lester. Elizabeth was pregnant when the voyage began, and she delivered a son while on board who she named Oceanus. The whole family survived the first winter, and Stephen and Elizabeth lived in Plymouth for 20 years. (10th great grandfather Hinckley line)
William Brewster Age at Landing 54
William Brewster was born around 1566. He was an Elder and teacher of the church in Leiden, and he continued his leadership in Plymouth. William was involved with printing religious materials in Leiden, which forced him to go into hiding from English authorities before the departure of Mayflower. He was the highest ranking Separatist church official to voyage on Mayflower.
William married a woman named Mary around 1592, with whom he had 5 surviving children. Two of their children were Mayflower passengers, while the elder three joined the family in America later. He died in Duxbury in 1644. (10th great grandfather Hinckley line)
William Mullins Age at Landing 48
William Mullins is believed to have been a shoemaker, based on the contents of his estate. He sailed on the Mayflower with his wife Alice, daughter Priscilla, son Joseph, and servant Robert Carter.
All of William’s family died during the first winter, except his daughter Priscilla, who later married fellow passenger John Alden and had a large family. William Mullins’s eldest son, also named William, came to America later and arrived in Duxbury by 1637. This son had one daughter, but she had no children. (11th Great Grandfather Holcomb line)

Alice Mullins, wife of William Mullins, arrived with her husband and children Priscilla and Joseph. She died during the first winter, along with her husband and son. (11th Great Grandmother Holcomb line)
Francis Cooke Age at Landing 37
Francis Cooke was born around 1583. He married Hester Mahieu in 1603 and had 7 children.
Francis took his oldest son John with him on Mayflower, while Hester and the other children followed them to America in 1623 on the ship Anne. Francis died in 1663 in Plymouth (11th Great Grandfather Holcomb line)
Richard Warren Age at Landing 40
Richard Warren was born probably around 1578 in Hertfordshire, England. He traveled on Mayflower, in advance of his wife Elizabeth and five daughters who arrived on the ship Anne in 1623.
Richard and Elizbeth had two more sons after they were reunited. Their daughter Sarah married passenger John Cooke, son of Francis Cooke.
Richard died in Plymouth in 1628, and his widow lived in Plymouth until her death in 1673 at the age of ninety. (11th great grandfather Holcomb line)
Love Brewster Age at Landing 9
Love Brewster was born around 1607. He traveled with his parents William and Mary and his brother Wrestling on Mayflower. His father, William, was a respected religious leader in the community.
Love married Sarah Collier in 1634, after her family came to America in 1633. They had 4 children. Love served in Myles Standish’s militia. He died in 1650 in Duxbury. (9th great grand uncle Hinckley line)
Moses Fletcher Age at Landing 56
Moses Fletcher sailed from Leiden. William Bradford reported that Moses Fletcher signed the Mayflower Compact and died soon after arrival in the “”general sickness,”” leaving no family in Plymouth. He did leave descendants in Europe. (11th Great grand uncle Holcomb line)
Henry Samson Age at Landing 17
Henry Samson was about 16 when he arrived on the Mayflower. He was a cousin of, and in the company of, Edward Tilley and his family. Edward and Agnes Tilley died during the first winter, but Henry survived.
In February of 1636 Henry married Anne Plummer. The two went on to have 9 children. Henry died in 1684, and he and Ann are buried in Cole’s Hill Burial Ground in Plymouth. (First cousin 12 times removed)
Edward Winslow Age at Landing 25
Edward Winslow was born in Droitwich, Worcestershire, England in 1595. He married Elizabeth Barker in Leiden in 1618. They sailed on Mayflower with two servants: George Soule and Elias Story, and a little girl Ellen More.
Elizabeth died during the first winter, and Edward married Susanna White, the widow of William White.
Edward was a merchant and valued agent for Plymouth Colony. He made many trips to England for personal and Colony business. He also served as the third governor of Plymouth, beginning in 1633. Edward left Plymouth for London in 1646 and never returned. He died at sea near Hispaniola on May 8, 1655 at age 59, where he was serving as part of Cromwell’s expedition to the West Indies.
